Roger Webster’s Marathon Band Room Tour

It’s not every night you turn up to a band rehearsal in Skipton and have one of the best cornet players in the country sitting and listening!

Last Monday saw Skipton Brass taking part in a year long project organised by Roger Webster himself and supported by Besson. Roger is touring the country visiting bands and offering advice, support and guidance with the aim of giving something back to a movement that has helped give him what he has today.

After listening to some of the rehearsal and chatting to the chairman, he spoke to the band as a whole and gave them advice on developing their playing techniques as well as answering questions from members of the band. He then spoke with the committee about developing the band in the future..

This was a unique opportunity to have one of the country’s leading cornetist’s in the band room and one the band very much enjoyed and benefitted from. If other local bands in the area haven’t contacted him yet it may not be too late and his details can be found on the link below.
